Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Glenn "GT" Thompson announced the Cresson Volunteer Fire Company as the recipient of an $11,000 U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Economic Impact Initiative Grant. The funds will be used to complete much needed repairs to the facility.

Washington, DC – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 3877, the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2019 by a vote of 284-149. President Donald Trump recently brokered a deal with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. WASHINGTON – The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) recently announced Saint Francis University as the recipient of a $150,000 grant. The funds will support advanced patient simulation training equipment for the University's new Health Sciences Experiential Learning Commons.
WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R.2500, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2020 by a vote of 220-197. The annual authorizing legislation sets Department of Defense (DOD) policy for the coming fiscal year. Representative Glenn Thompson voted against the legislation because it contained a number of controversial provisions and fell short on delivering much needed investments for the DOD, national security, and military families.
