As of 12:01 a.m. on October 1, funding for many federal government operations has lapsed. I supported a package passed by the House that would extend current funding until November 21, 2025, but the proposal did not pass the Senate.
This means two things:
WASHINGTON, D.C.— This week, U.S. Representatives Glenn "GT" Thompson (R-PA), Eugene Vindman (D-VA), Mike Lawler (R-NY), and Kristen McDonald Rivet (D-MI) introduced the bipartisan If You See It, Squish It Act of 2025 to increase public awareness on the dangers of invasive, spotted lanternflies.
WASHINGTON, D.C.— This week, Representatives Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-PA) and Lucy McBath (D-GA) are leading a resolution to recognize September 22-26, 2025, as “National Hazing Awareness Week.” The resolution recognizes the hundreds of students who have died or suffered severe, life-altering injuries as a result of collegiate hazing and promotes efforts to prevent hazing. A companion resolution was introduced by U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA).
