Rep. Thompson welcomes Pastor Kenneth Codner to the Capitol
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson welcomed Pastor Kenneth Codner of Grace Baptist Church in Spring Mills, Pa. as guest chaplain for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Since 1789, the House has been served by chaplains of various religious denominations. Currently, the position is held by Reverend Patrick J. Conroy who serves as the 60th Chaplain of the House of Representatives.
House approves measure to cut red-tape, help prevent forest fires

Staff office hours to take place Friday in Clearfield

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson today voiced his support in favor of the Environmental Protection Agency’s decision to ease regulations on coal-fired power plants. In 2016, the U.S. Supreme Court granted a stay on the proposal due to significant legal challenges.
EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt today issued a notice that the agency would repeal the Obama-era Clean Power Plan, citing concerns that it exceeds agency statutory authority. There have been numerous court challenges to the implementation of Clean Power Plan.
Deadline to submit an app is November 1, 2017
WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson today encouraged students in Pennsylvania’s Fifth Congressional District to participate in the Congressional App Challenge.
The Congressional App Challenge is a public effort to encourage kids to learn how to code, through annual district-wide competitions hosted by Members of Congress for their district.
