WASHINGTON U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson today voiced his support in favor of the Environmental Protection Agency’s decision to ease regulations on coal-fired power plants. In 2016, the U.S. Supreme Court granted a stay on the proposal due to significant legal challenges.

EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt today issued a notice that the agency would repeal the Obama-era Clean Power Plan, citing concerns that it exceeds agency statutory authority. There have been numerous court challenges to the implementation of Clean Power Plan.

Deadline to submit an app is November 1, 2017

WASHINGTON U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson today encouraged students in Pennsylvania’s Fifth Congressional District to participate in the Congressional App Challenge.

The Congressional App Challenge is a public effort to encourage kids to learn how to code, through annual district-wide competitions hosted by Members of Congress for their district.

Congressional staff office hours to take place Friday in DuBois

BELLEFONTE, Pa.U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson today, announced that his staff will host constituent office hours on Friday, October 13 in DuBois.

Staff will be available to meet with residents who need assistance with federal agencies, such as the Social Security Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the IRS and others.

Bill protects energy production, private mineral owners in Pennsylvania’s Allegheny National Forest

WASHINGTON – Today the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson’s bill that protects oil and gas production in the Allegheny National Forest (ANF).

H.R. 2316, the Cooperative Management of Mineral Rights Act, clarifies existing law relating to energy production in the ANF.
