The new COVID Relief Bill contained much more than $600 for individuals. It did something the CARES Act of 2019 did not do; it included relief for agriculture.
"There are some good things for agriculture in the COVID relief bill," said U.S. Rep. Glenn "GT" Thompson (R-15) who is the new Republican leader on the Agriculture Committee.
The passage of the National Defense Act was largely overshadowed by the Coronavirus relief bill but, according to Rep. Glenn "GT" Thompson (R-15), there were some important provisions in that bill.
The bill had been approved by Congress but vetoed by President Donald Trump. Congress voted to override his veto however.
"I unequivocally support the right to peacefully assemble, but what occurred today at the U.S. Capitol was senseless, violent and destructive—and counter to American values.
My staff and I are safe, thanks to the efforts of the Capitol Police, who have been working tirelessly to reinstate the peace. This was a sad day for our nation and totally unacceptable."
