Thompson Statement on President’s Address Regarding the End of the War in Afghanistan

Howard, PA— Following President Biden's remarks on the completion of the Afghanistan troop withdrawal, Congressman Glenn "GT" Thompson released the following statement:

"Today is not a celebration of the end of a decades-long war. The Biden Administration's haphazard withdrawal has resulted in 13 unnecessary deaths of US service members, the abandonment of hundreds of Americans and Afghan allies, and the arming of our enemy with billions of dollars' worth of military equipment. This failure by the Biden Administration has empowered terrorists and casts doubt in the minds of our allies."
