In February, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill to fund government operations for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2011. Since then, the Senate has failed to act on the legislation, and Congress has passed two continuing resolutions to avert a government shutdown, the second of which will expire April 8. Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Glenn `GT’ Thompson, today announced that the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs has instituted new U.S. Birth Certificate Requirements for passport applications. The following information was provided by the U.S. Department of State.
Washington, D.C.— John DiEugenio, of Boalsburg, will soon join the cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. , according to U.S. Representative Glenn `GT’ Thompson, R-Howard, who nominated him. John is the son of Dr. Richard and Janet DiEugenio.
“John has served his community and challenged himself through rigorous coursework,” said Thompson. “I am proud to have supported his nomination and congratulate his acceptance to the U.S. Air Force Academy.”
As some of you may know, on March 17th, I introduced H.R. 1041, the Fairness in Medicare Bidding Act. This deficit neutral bill will fix Medicare’s Durable Medical Equipment competitive bidding program. The Medicare bidding program was intended to create cost savings through competition for equipment such as home oxygen, power wheel chairs, and other critical and many times life-saving medical supplies.

Washington, D.C. – Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson will join the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee tomorrow, March 23rd, for a field hearing to review the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), the health care reform law passed in March of 2009. The hearing, “PPACA in Pennsylvania: One Year of Broken Promises,” is being held by Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee Chairman Joe Pitts (PA-16). Thompson, a former therapist and licensed nursing home administrator of 28 years, was asked to join the hearing at Chairman Pitt’s request.
