This week during a floor speech before the U.S. House of Representatives, I congratulated Clinton County’s Keystone Little League baseball team on their historic run for the 2011 Little League World Series Championship. Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced that the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) application period will be extended due to Hurricane Irene response and recovery, according to U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson, R-Howard. The NEW deadline for AFG applications is September 16, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. EST, one week later than the initial date.

Washington, D.C.—Representative Glenn `GT' Thompson, R-Howard, today announced October 3, 2011, as the deadline for high school seniors to apply for nomination through the Bellefonte District Office for acceptance into one of the four military academies for the year 2012.

"For Seniors interested in applying to the academies, it is time to circle that date on your calendar and start putting together the required materials," Thompson explained.
