U.S. Representative Glenn 'GT' Thompson has three sons who are grown, but on Thursday he had a special guest for Take Your Daughters and Sons to Work Day.

Seth Parish, a first-grader from Maryland joined Congressman Thompson for a day in the nation's capital. Seth's Dad was in the U.S. Army and died in 2009 about a month before Seth was born. The nonprofit Tuesday's Children connected Congressman Thompson with Seth. Tuesday's Children uses its experience and expertise to help our military families work through their own losses.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson today encouraged local fire departments to apply for federal grant assistance to help with fire prevention and safety efforts.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Fiscal Year 2016 Fire Prevention and Safety Program is currently open and will close on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 5 p.m. ET.
