Clarion-Limestone senior accepts fully-qualified appointment

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) today announced that Ms. Erica Lynn Hetrick of Clarion, Pa. has accepted a fully-qualified appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy.

Erica is a senior at Clarion-Limestone Jr.-Sr. High School, and she is the daughter of Derry Hetrick and Virginia McKisson, both of Clarion.

“Ms. Hetrick has excelled in the classroom, on the playing field and in service to her community,” Rep. Thompson said. “I know that Erica’s high honors  will lend to her becoming a leader at the Naval Academy in Annapolis in the same fashion as she  did at Clarion-Limestone Jr.-Sr. High. I was pleased to nominate Ms. Hetrick, and I wish her the best of luck as a midshipman.”
Hetrick is Vice President of the National Honor Society, she founded the Political Science Club and serves as President, works part-time as Bob’s Sub and Sandwich Shop, and she has volunteered her time with numerous clubs and organizations including Future Teachers of America where she tutored other students. She is currently ranked second in her class.

Hetrick is also a member of the track and field team, and volleyball team where in 2017 she was co-captain and named Most Valuable Player.

Hetrick’s maternal grandparents are Henrietta and Bill Kodrich of Clarion.
