WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) has been named Vice Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee for the 115th Congress.

House Agriculture Committee Chairman K. Michael Conaway (R-TX) made the announcement this morning as he welcomed six new Members of Congress to serve on the Agriculture Committee.

Chairman Conaway said that Rep. Thompson will be an experienced Vice Chairman and noted that he most recently oversaw the Agriculture Committee’s Subcommittee on Conservation and Forestry in the 114th Congress.

Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-5), Mike Kelly (PA-3) and Keith Rothfus (PA-12) today wrote to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy, regarding the “Zero Discharge” rule. This regulation, which went into effect in August, creates new federal standards for the discharge of wastewater derived from “unconventional oil and gas” at publically-owned treatment works (POTWs).

The "Friend of the Farm Bureau" award will be presented during a tour of the Big Maple Natural Therapeutic Farm.
