WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT' Thompson issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Department of Labor's August 2018 jobs report:

"Today's report shows that American jobs have grown and wages have expanded at the greatest rate in more than a decade. The jobless rate is 3.9 percent, the lowest since the 1960s, and in August more than 200,000 jobs were added. This welcomed news shows that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act is working in communities throughout the country.

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT' Thompson today announced a federal grant that will help the PA Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship, Inc. (PA Wilds Center) establish a business incubator/accelerator in McKean County that will serve businesses across the Pennsylvania Wilds region.

USDA Rural Development has approved a grant of $98,000 for the business incubator/accelerator that will be located in Kane, Pa. Additional public and private-sector funding will bring the total project cost to $193,000.

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT' Thompson today announced a federal grant that will help the Bradford Regional Airport (BRA) make safety equipment upgrades and remove obstructions from the runway.

The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded $186,423 to the Bradford Regional Airport Authority for the safety initiatives.

WASHINGTON – President Donald J. Trump signed U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT' Thompson's career and technical education bill Tuesday during a ceremony in the Oval Office of the White House.

Last week, the House unanimously passed H.R. 2353, the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act, which overhauls the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act. The $1.2 billion program hasn't been reauthorized by Congress since 2006.

WASHINGTON – House Leadership today appointed U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT' Thompson, Vice Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, to the conference committee tasked with negotiating a final Farm Bill.

The House and Senate have each passed their own versions of the 2018 Farm Bill, and a final bill must pass both chambers of Congress before it can be sent to the president to be signed into law.
