Thompson Votes In Support of Funding to Combat Coronavirus
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 6074, the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act by a vote of 415-2. The bill provides $8.3 billion in funding to combat the COVID-19 outbreak, otherwise known as Coronavirus. Following the vote, Congressman Thompson issued the following statement:
"I am pleased the House acted swiftly in a bipartisan manner to address the evolving domestic COVID-19 challenges," said Thompson. "Today’s emergency package will assist with the development of tests and vaccines while equipping state and local leaders with the tools they need to improve their response efforts. As a former healthcare professional, firefighter, and EMT, the importance of contingency planning is not lost on me and I remain committed to promoting the health and safety of all Pennsylvanians."
