In particular, the event was focused on the implementation of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, which created new stringent standards for these programs.

Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) announced the United States Department of Education has awarded $284,753 to Lock Haven University through a grant process for the Student Support Services (SSS) Program for Fiscal Year 2015. The award, beginning Sept. 1, is anticipated to continue for five years, totaling more than $1.4 million.

The law is designed to enhance coordination among federal, state and local workforce training programs and services helping the workforce training system better identify employment in high-demand industries.
