HCCADC serves hundreds of children in Huntingdon region through early education programs

Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Rep. Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-5) announced a $17.8 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to Penn State University, which will be used over the next five years. The grant funds will be dedicated to the growth of efficiencies and materials for next-generation electronic devices. The grant for the university’s Materials Research Institute was one of only two in the nation awarded by the NSF.

The bill, which passed both chambers with broad bipartisan support, replaces the current elementary and secondary education law “No Child Left Behind.” Thompson, who is a senior member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, was appointed by Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) to serve on the committee responsible for settling differences between the House and Senate versions of the bill.
