Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) issued the following statement upon House passage of H.R. 160, the Protect Medical Innovation Act, which repeals the Affordable Care Act’s 2.3% excise tax on medical devices:
Washington, D.C.—Today, the House Agriculture Committee approved H.R. 2647, the Resilient Federal Forests Act of 2015, a comprehensive bill aimed at expediting and improving forest management activities in federal forests.
The Resilient Federal Forests Act of 2015 builds upon the work of previous Congresses to address the consequences of catastrophic wildfire, invasive species and disease infestations, along with other ongoing threats to the national forest system. The bill also will return resilience to overgrown, fire-prone forested lands.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson’s (PA-05) legislation, H.R. 2394, the National Forest Foundation Reauthorization Act of 2015, passed the House of Representatives by voice vote. This bipartisan bill will reauthorize the National Forest Foundation Act so the Foundation will have the resources it needs to protect and restore our 193-million-acre national forest system, including Pennsylvania’s Allegheny National Forest.
