Washington, DC – Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) today announced the awarding $125,050 Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant to a Cameron County health center. The funding awarded to Keystone Rural Health Consortia’s Cameron County Health Care Center will provide assistance in providing on site behavioral health services.

“Rural health care centers such as this are so important to the communities which they serve,” Thompson said. “I am happy to see services expanding for the people of Emporium and the surrounding area.”

The funding will allow the bureau to continue to operate its emergency shelter at all hours of the day.

Thompson’s staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance to area residents and business owners on a wide variety of federal issues. Those issues include, but are not limited to, economic and workforce development opportunities, Social Security, Medicare and Veterans’ benefits.

Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) today joined U.S. Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) in announcing the awarding of $999,972 in grant funding to the Pennsylvania State University’s Department of Ecosystem Science and Management. The grant was awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) and is focused on reducing the amount of nutrient inputs to waterways through a diverse mix of cover crops.

Bellefonte, PA – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) today joined a bipartisan group of federal, state and locally elected officials, in voicing their opposition to a proposal from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency which would result in increased compliance measures dealing with ozone. As a result of the regulations, three counties in the 5th Congressional District - Erie, Centre and Clearfield - would fall out of compliance with federal law, as reported today by the Center for Regulatory Solutions (CRS).

Bellefonte, PA – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) will join with officials from across Jefferson County in celebrating a milestone for the Historic Brookville Town Square project. With the announcement this summer that a $150,000 grant will go toward the project, funding needed to complete the town square has been secured. This clears the way for the long-awaited project to move from the planning stages. The park will be located in the heart of Brookville’s historic district, next to the Jefferson County Courthouse.
