Washington, DC –U.S. Rep. Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) today voted in favor of H.R. 22, the Surface Transportation Reauthorization and Reform Act, which provides for the long-term authorization of the surface transportation law, helping improve our nation’s roads, bridges and public transportation systems. The legislation authorizes $325 billion over the next six years and will provide more certainty when it comes to infrastructure and transportation planning.

Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) today introduced H.R. 3881, the “Cooperative Management of Mineral Rights Act of 2015,” which will prohibit the U.S. Forest Service from creating rules to limit access to privately-held mineral rights, within the Allegheny National Forest (ANF). Washington, DC - U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson (PA-05) today voted in favor of the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015 (H.R. 1314), which passed the House by a vote of 266 to 167. This two-year blueprint for federal spending will ensure the government does not default on its debt and provides equal authorization increases for military and domestic discretionary programs.

Washington, DC - U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson (PA-05) today voted in favor of legislation which would reauthorize the United States Export-Import Bank. The Export-Import Bank Reform and Reauthorization Act of 2015 (H.R. 597) passed the House with a bipartisan vote of 313 to 118 and will be brought before the Senate for consideration.
Washington, DC - U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson (PA-05) today announced the awarding of grant funds for a diabetes education program in six rural Pennsylvania counties. The funding, totaling $295,562 was awarded by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture to the Pennsylvania State University’s Dining with Diabetes Program. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) those affected with diabetes had medical expenditures that were 2.3 times higher than those without diabetes.
Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) will participate on Saturday, Oct. 24, in a “Buddy Walk” organized by the Centre County Down Syndrome Society. The event is intended to raise awareness of Down syndrome across the region. Thompson will speak at the event regarding the Achieving a Better Life Experience, or ABLE, Act, which allows people with disabilities and their families to create a flexible account to help save for medical and dental care, education, community based support, employment training, housing and transportation.
