WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT' Thompson today announced the winner of the 2019 Congressional Art Competition: Ms. Cindy Lam, a 10th-grader at DuBois Area High School.

Ms. Lam, of DuBois, won for her prismacolor pencil drawing titled, "Self." An independent panel of judges selected Ms. Lam's work from a record 68 entries, which is one of the largest groups of students to participate in Pennsylvania's Fifteenth Congressional District Art Competition.

Area farmers are making sure their voices are heard in the nation's capital.

Two local farmers, both Pennsylvania Farm Bureau members, were among a group that visited Washington, D.C. Feb 26-28.

"Pennsylvania Farm Bureau believes it is critically important for farmers to travel to Washington D.C. to meet face-to-face with lawmakers who represent them on national issues," spokesman Mark O'Neill said.
