BROOKVILLE, PAThe office of Congressman Glenn 'GT' Thompson is now accepting entries for the 2020 Congressional Art Competition. Since 1982, the Congressional Art Competition has provided Members of Congress the opportunity to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of young constituents. Over the years, more than 650,000 students have participated.

U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson announced Thursday that McKean County will receive an $11.9 million Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) grant from the Federal Railroad Administration.

Specifically, the funds will be used for the McKean, Venango and Crawford counties' Freight Rail Capacity and Safety Enhancement Project to improve rail service in rural communities, according to a news release from Thompson's office.

WASHINGTON, DCToday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 6074, the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act by a vote of 415-2. The bill provides $8.3 billion in funding to combat the COVID-19 outbreak, otherwise known as Coronavirus. Following the vote, Congressman Thompson issued the following statement:

WASHINGTON, DCToday, Representative Glenn 'GT' Thompson announced that Ms. Lindsey Bordas of Philipsburg has accepted a fully-qualified appointment to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York.

Ms. Bordas is a senior at Philipsburg-Osceloa Senior High School, and she is the daughter of Amy and Andrew Bordas.

WASHINGTON Congressmen Glenn ‘GT' Thompson (R-PA) and Jim Langevin (D-RI), co-chairs of the Congressional Career and Technical Education (CTE) Caucus, today introduced the Transportation Workforce Centers of Excellence Act to boost transportation workforce training opportunities offered at community and technical colleges across the nation. The bill will provide $50 million in competitive grants to strengthen education and training programs in targeted industries.
