Washington, D.C.—A measure to congratulate Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON) on its continued success in support of the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital, H. Res. 1112, passed the U.S. House of Representatives today by voice vote.  It was introduced by U.S. Representative Glenn `GT’ Thompson, R-Howard.

Washington, D.C.—U.S. Representative Glenn `GT’ Thompson, R-Howard, today announced that Bryan R. Schmidt, 17, of State College, has accepted a fully qualified appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.  Bryan is the son of Robert and Stephanie Schmidt.

Lefebvre, III, 18, of Titusville, has accepted a fully qualified appointment for admission to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO.  Eugene is the son of Eugene II and Jennifer Lefebvre.

Washington, D.C.—At a hearing today in the House Education and Labor Committee, U.S. Representative Glenn `GT’ Thompson, R-Howard, questioned U.S. Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis,  on President Obama’s Executive Order encouraging Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) for federal contracts and asked why the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has imposed them when going to bid.
