Bipartisan bill repeals Independent Payment Advisory Board
WASHINGTON – Today, the House of Representatives approved H.R. 849, the Protecting Seniors' Access to Medicare Act of 2017, which eliminates the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB).
Established under the Affordable Care Act, IPAB is an unelected 15-member board that has the power to cut Medicare spending without Congressional review, impacting the health access of more than 55 million seniors.
Rep. Thompson welcomes Pastor Kenneth Codner to the Capitol
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson welcomed Pastor Kenneth Codner of Grace Baptist Church in Spring Mills, Pa. as guest chaplain for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Since 1789, the House has been served by chaplains of various religious denominations. Currently, the position is held by Reverend Patrick J. Conroy who serves as the 60th Chaplain of the House of Representatives.
