Thompson Votes No On Impeachment

December 18, 2019

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.Res. 755, a resolution impeaching Donald John Trump, President of the United States, for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress by a vote of 230-197-1 and 229-198-1 respectively. Three Democrats joined House Republicans in their bipartisan opposition. The resolution, including two articles of impeachment, will now make its way to the Senate for a trial. Upon conclusion of the House vote, Congressman Glenn ‘GT' Thompson issued a statement:

"This vote was a political stunt aimed at reversing the votes of 63 million Americans who put the President in office. I voted with a resounding "NO." I applaud the three Democrats who joined a united Republican conference in opposition. I continue to warn others that scoring cheap political points is not worth leaving a lasting stain on this institution. They need to understand the American public is tired of the games and want real results out of Washington."
