Thompson: Senate Democrats Must Put Policy Over Politics and Negotiate the Farm Bill

Farm bill expired September 30

BELLEFONTE, Pa.U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson today called on Senate Democrats, who are negotiating the Farm Bill, to come to the table and get the job done for all Americans.

“By allowing the farm bill to expire, Senate Democrats have shown they are more concerned about politics than policies, while farm families around the nation continue to face difficult financial times. Our farmers and ranchers are struggling and this delay is not good for the country.

“It is my hope that we can put politics aside and do what’s right. My friends on the other side of the aisle need to stop stalling and negotiate in good faith to reach a compromise.”

Rep. Thompson is Vice Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee and serves on the conference committee.
