Rep. Glenn "GT" Thompson, R-Pa., is this year's inductee into the Pennsylvania Livestock Hall of Fame.

The ceremony was held at the Keystone International Livestock Exposition at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center.

A quarter of a million dollars in funding has been approved by the federal government for the Rixford water system.

U.S. Rep. Glenn Thompson, R-Pa., announced Monday a $125,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission and a $125,000 loan from USDA Rural Development to be used to assure the community has access to safe drinking water.

Jeff Anderson, president of the Rixford Waterworks Association, said it has been working to get funding for several years now.

Though we come from opposite sides of the aisle, we successfully worked together as co-chairs of the bipartisan Congressional Career and Technical Education Caucus to overhaul the law responsible for much of our nation's career and technical education system.

The bill, signed into law by President Donald Trump, enjoyed an unusual level of bipartisan support.

Sixteen-year-old Samantha Saulsgiver is more than just a junior at General McLane High School and at Erie County Technical School.

She's also a full-time lathe operator at H&H Aero Inc., an Erie company that makes precision parts for jet engines.

Although she is returning to a part-time schedule at Aero as classes resume, she said a job will be waiting for her when she graduates.

The economy is soaring and unemployment is at its lowest point in more than a decade. Despite this good news, far too many Americans find themselves out of the workforce or lacking the skills needed to land a good-paying job.

Yet there are more than six million job openings throughout the country.

Now, more than any time this century, we have an opportunity to empower individuals to change their circumstances and look toward acquiring new skills that will lead to greater opportunities.

DUBOIS - Google paid a visit to Clearfield County Monday to deliver a program called the Computer Science (CS) First Roadshow.

Their final stop for the 2017-18 school year was at the DuBois Area Middle School.
