37 students entered PA-05 Congressional Art Contest
BELLEFONTE, Pa. – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson recently congratulated Jeff Tech student Ms. Cassy Lester on her First Place award in the 2017 Congressional Art Competition.
Ms. Lester, of Reynoldsville, won for her acrylic painting titled, “Chocolate Lab.” An independent panel of judges selected Lester’s work from 37 entries, which is one of the largest groups to compete in Pennsylvania’s Fifth District competition.

Vote to repeal and replace Obamacare passes House

“Today, I voted in favor of repealing and replacing Obamacare and to advance a bill that aims to create a health care system that works for all Americans. Obamacare has been failing with one in three counties in the country now only having access to one insurance provider, out of control premiums, and limited choices for consumers.

Seth Parish, a first-grader from Maryland joined Congressman Thompson for a day in the nation's capital. Seth's Dad was in the U.S. Army and died in 2009 about a month before Seth was born. The nonprofit Tuesday's Children connected Congressman Thompson with Seth. Tuesday's Children uses its experience and expertise to help our military families work through their own losses.
