Huang, Yarger receive highest honor Congress can bestow upon youth

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson presented William Huang of State College and Sarah Yarger of West Decatur with Congressional Award Medals for achievements in their communities.

U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson issued the following statement in the wake of the melee in Charlottesville, Va:

"The events that unfolded in Charlottesville, Va. are horrific and my family and I are praying for those injured and the young woman who so tragically lost her life.

“While freedom of speech is a protected right in this country, violence is certainly not. Hate groups should heed this as a warning. The people, united, will always stand in face of adversity and continue to strengthen the ties that bind us together as Americans."

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – Today, U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is awarding CenClear Child Services, Inc. a federal grant in the amount of $6,157,353.00 for its Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

Since 1980, CenClear Child Services, Inc. has served the communities of Centre and Clearfield counties. The nonprofit continues to meet the needs in the community by developing programs and services to support children and their families.

Strategic study will guide future recreational developments in area

WASHINGTON U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson today announced a $115,000 federal grant to study recreational opportunities in the Galeton Berger Lake and Centertown Park Area.

The Appalachian Regional Commission awarded the grant to the Galeton Development Corporation. It prepared the application with assistance from North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission.

Thompson congratulates 2016-2017 Fulbright award recipients

WASHINGTON U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson today announced a $75,900 federal grant for Penn State University students and scholars working on group projects overseas.

The U.S. Department of Education awarded the funding through the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad program.
