Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson, R-Howard, joined his fellow freshman Republican colleagues in announcing legislation that directs the Secretary of the Treasury to recoup, within two weeks of passage, the $165 million in bonuses paid to American International Group (AIG) executives.

Thompson joined his colleagues at an afternoon press conference to express his outrage.

Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson, R-Howard, issued the following statement denouncing AIG’s reported $165 million in bonus payments to ‘contractually obligated’ employees:

“After supplying AIG with $170 billion in taxpayer dollars to keep them afloat, and now learning that $165 million of this was used to pay employee bonuses, I can only say that this is an utter disgrace and an outright slap in the face to all of the hard working men and women of this country who are struggling to make ends meet.

Washington, DC – U.S. Representative GT Thompson, R-Howard, announced today that the Warren County Career Center (WCCC) will receive $190,000 in Federal funding through the Fiscal Year 2009 Omnibus Appropriations Bill. Thompson’s predecessor, John Peterson, a former Member of the House Appropriations Committee requested the funds.

The funding is included in the Fiscal Year 2009 Omnibus Appropriations Act and was requested by Thompson’s predecessor, John Peterson, who was a Member of the House Appropriations Committee.

The funding was requested by Thompson’s predecessor, John Peterson, who was a Member of the House Appropriations Committee.
