Thompson Supports Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization

December 10, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Glenn “GT” Thompson voted in favor of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2026. Rep. Thompson released the following statement upon passage of the package:

“This year’s National Defense Authorization Act makes a generational investment in America’s national defense and ensures the U.S. military remains the strongest in the world. It gives our Armed Forces cutting-edge capabilities they need to be ready.

“Importantly, the bill improves the quality of life for all service members by increasing their pay, expanding their housing, and ensuring their children have access to quality education and childcare. I proudly support this NDAA, which implements President Trump’s ‘Peace Through Strength’ agenda.”

NDAA Highlights:

  • Provides a 3.8% pay raise for all service members and reauthorizes and expands military bonuses and special pay.

  • Includes Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act, which expands access to federal support for the families of firefighters and other first responders who pass away or become permanently disabled from service-related cancers. Rep. Thompson is a cosponsor of the standalone bill.

  • Expands authorities and increases funding for the Department of War to conduct more investigations and return the remains of American POW/MIA service members.

  • Authorizes, funds, and creates new authorities to meet President Trump’s goal of revitalizing American shipbuilding, growing defense manufacturing jobs in America, and onshoring our defense supply chains.

  • Expands efforts to counter foreign adversaries such as China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea.
