Thompson Statement on H.R. 4521, the America COMPETES Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following the passage of H.R. 4521 the America COMPETES Act, U.S. Representative Glenn "GT" Thompson released the following statement:

"Despite rising inflation and numerous crises facing America, Democrats are now pushing through a $325 billion bill that will only exacerbate our current supply chain challenges. There were zero hearings on this rushed and partisan legislation, and not a single opportunity for members from both parties to shape meaningful reform to China's predatory trade practices. The United States Congress should be united in this front. But today's vote continues the trend of legislation that is nothing more than ideological pandering to the Democrats' political base. I voted no."
