Thompson Issues Statement on Passage of House Budget Proposal

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) issued this statement following passage of H. Con. Res. 27, the Fiscal Year 2016 Budget Resolution:

“This budget proposal will serve as a strong blueprint to put our country on a long term path to fiscal responsibility and sustainability.

Unlike the President’s proposal, which is loaded with the same tax and spend policies that have not worked for the American people, the House proposal will balance the budget in less than ten years without ever raising taxes on hard working American families.

Moving forward in the process, I remain committed to ensuring a strong national security, economic competitiveness and an atmosphere that will foster positive growth throughout Pennsylvania and all across the country.”

The FY2016 Budget Resolution passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 228 to 199.
