Thompson Applauds Passage of CHIP Reauthorization
WASHINGTON – Today, following passage of H.R. 3922, the Community Health and Medical Professionals Improve Our Nation Act of 2017, U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson issued the following statement:
“Today’s vote will extend the Children’s Health Insurance Program for five years and provide funding for community health centers. More than 176,000 children in the Commonwealth receive comprehensive health coverage through CHIP, providing them will access to affordable, age-appropriate medical and developmental care. I strongly support the program and believe it is paramount to ensure Pennsylvania’s children have access to care regardless of their family’s circumstances.”
In September, Rep. Thompson led a bipartisan effort to urge House leaders to extend federal funding for CHIP.
