Thompson Announces Federal Grant to Support Warren County’s Head Start Program

Warren, PA – Today, Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) announced that the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded the Warren Forest Counties Economic Opportunity Council, a federal grant in the amount of $1,496,422.00.

“I am very pleased that Warren County’s Head Start Program has been awarded these funds to benefit low-income families and children with special needs,” said Congressman Thompson. “This award will allow 185 eligible children and their families in Warren County to enroll in services that will foster school readiness, literacy, and mental wellness at a critical time in child development,” added Thompson.

“Children who attend the Warren Forest Counties Economic Opportunity Council’s Head Start Program are more prepared for kindergarten, excited about learning and ready to succeed,” said Robert Raible, Executive Director. “This grant will help the Agency continue to provide quality Head Start services to 185 children and their families. We thank Congressman Thompson for his leadership on this issue.”
