Thompson Announces Appointment of William Westrick to the U.S. Naval Academy
WASHINGTON, D.C.– U.S. Representative Glenn "GT" Thompson today announced that Mr. William Westrick, of Ebensburg, has accepted a fully-qualified appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland.
Westrick is a senior at Central Cambria High School, and he is the son of Ryan and Carissa Westrick. He is the grandson of Bill Itle of Loretto; Joyce Itle of Ebensburg; Barbara Westrick of Bakerton; and Albert Westrick of Ebensburg.
"William excels academically, on the playing field, and he is a leader in his community," Rep. Thompson said. "It's clear that he has the dedication, drive, and passion to thrive at the United States Naval Academy. I wish him the best of luck as a midshipman in Annapolis."
Westrick is a member of the National Honor Society, the Ebensburg Borough Junior Council, and the 4-H Dairy Club. He is a varsity athlete in three sports and is Chairman of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
