WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Glenn “GT” Thompson today announced that Mr. Samuel Hunsberger, of Licking Township, Pa. has accepted a fully qualified appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
Hunsberger is a senior at Keystone Jr. Sr. High School, he is the son of Melissa and Larry Hunsberger of Licking Township, Pa. He is the grandson of Jane Hunsberger and the late Ronald Hunsberger of Licking Township, Pa., the late Audrey Woodkirk of New Bethlehem, Pa., and the late Burdette Woodkirk of Hazel Township, Pa.
“Samuel is a well-rounded student excelling in the classroom, on the football field, and on the stage. His commitment to academic achievement, athletic, and musical excellence are traits that will allow him to compete with the best and brightest students at the Military Academy,” Rep. Thompson said. “Samuel is a proven leader and I wish him the best in this next chapter.”
Hunsberger serves as a volunteer firefighter in Knox and Callensburg Licking Township. He is also a member of the marching band, a three-year varsity football player, and a member of the student government.
