Thompson Announces Appointment of Joshua Hershbine to the U.S. Military Academy
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Glenn "GT" Thompson today announced that Mr. Joshua Hershbine of Port Matilda, has accepted a fully-qualified appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York.
Hershbine is a senior at State College Area High School, and he is the son of Todd and Julie Hershbine. He is the grandson of the late Clarence and Dolores Farabaugh of Carolltown and Josh and Kathleen Hershbine of Sanibel, Florida.
"Joshua's dedication to excellence both in and out of the classroom will serve him well at the Military Academy," Rep. Thompson said. "I am honored to nominate Joshua, and I wish him the best of luck at West Point."
Joshua is a member of the Student Council and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Joshua is a varsity athlete in three sports: track and field, cross country, and indoor track. Outside of the classroom, Joshua volunteers at Our Lady of Victory Church and School.
