Funds will replace outdated equipment, advancing health equity and patient health
WASHINGTON, DC. – U.S. Representative Glenn “GT” Thompson today announced $761,000 for the Punxsutawney Area Hospital to replace its Magnetic Resonance Imaging Unit (MRI). This is part of a larger expansion project for the area hospital to advance health equity and improve overall patient health outcomes in rural Pennsylvania.
“A new MRI unit at Punxsutawney Hospital will help serve the community and will keep in-demand health care services local,” Rep. Thompson said. “Having spent nearly 30 years in health care, I am passionate about improving access to high-quality care in rural Pennsylvania. This funding is a partnership between the federal government and local community and will improve the quality of service for patients for years to come.”
