Thompson Announces $473,684 Grant for Bradford Regional Airport

May 19, 2021
Washington, DC– Today, Congressman Glenn 'GT' Thompson announced Bradford Regional Airport Authority as the recipient of a $473,684 U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration Grant.

"Air service at Bradford Regional Airport provides a critical link, which helps with recreational and business opportunities," said Congressman Thompson. "This grant allows for the purchase of equipment needed to support the airport for year-round use, continuing to connect McKean County and the surrounding communities with the rest of the national transportation system."

"The Bradford Regional Airport will be utilizing these funds to purchase new snow removal equipment. These essential pieces of equipment, funded by the Federal Aviation Administration, allow us to continue providing safe, reliable air service to our communities year-round. As always we are thankful to Congressman Thompson for his ongoing support of the Airport and assistance in securing this critical funding." said Alicia Dankesreiter, Bradford Regional Airport Manager.

The grant will be used to support the acquisition of replacement snow removal equipment, to keep the airport serviceable during snow periods and aid in the efficiency and safety of operations.

About The Grant
The Airport Improvement Program (AIP) provides grants to public agencies — and, in some cases, to private owners and entities — for the planning and development of public-use airports that are included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS). The Airport Improvement Program (AIP) airport grant program funds airport infrastructure projects such as runways, taxiways, airport signage, airport lighting, and airport markings. The grants strengthen our nation's aviation infrastructure. For more information, please visit the Department of Transportation website.
