September 7, 2012

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson today announced the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded a $45,000.00 grant to the Clearfield-Jefferson Counties Regional Airport Authority. The grant funding will provide for the upgrade of the water treatment system at DuBois Regional Airport in Jefferson County, Pa.

“The U.S. Department of Transportation grant offers DuBois Regional Airport the resources to expand its water processing capacity, which is necessary for the airport to meet growing aviation transit demands in the region,” stated Rep. Thompson.

Upgrading the water treatment system will include evaluation of the existing treatment system and the design for future upgrades. The upgrades are necessary to increase water processing capacity at the airport and meet federal regulations.

“The water treatment system is a critical infrastructure that is utilized by all of the airport’s facilities,” stated Robert Shaffer, DuBois Regional Airport Manager. “With growing operational demand this funding enables Dubois Regional Airport to meet future facilities capacity and continue offering safe and reliable transportation services.”
