Thompson Announces 2026 Congressional Art Competition

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – U.S. Representative Glenn “GT” Thompson (PA-15) today announced that the 2026 Congressional Art Competition in Pennsylvania’s 15th Congressional District is officially accepting entries. High school students in grades eight through 12 from PA-15 are eligible to participate.

“The Congressional Art Competition is a great opportunity for students to showcase their creativity,” Rep. Thompson said. “I look forward to seeing all the exceptional art pieces and meeting these talented students.”

The winner of the Congressional Art Competition will have their artwork displayed in the United States Capitol for a year and are invited to a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Participating students from the 15th Congressional District will be invited to an award ceremony at the Winkler Gallery and Art Education Center in DuBois, Pa. on April 18, 2026, beginning at 10 a.m. Students, friends, and families are encouraged to attend.

The winning artwork will be selected by an independent panel of judges established by the Winkler Gallery.

The deadline for submissions is April 10.

FOR CONTESTANTS
All pieces entered for consideration must meet the following criteria: 

  • Be two dimensional;
  • Be no larger than 26 inches wide by 26 inches tall by 4 inches thick;
  • Can not weigh more than 15 pounds, including the frame;
  • Be original in design, concept, and execution; and
  • May not violate any U.S. copyright laws.
