Pennsylvania Cable Network Will Air Thompson’s ‘Barnyard Discussion’ on Agriculture Policy on Aug. 20 at 6:30 p.m.

Washington, DC – The Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. will air footage from Rep. Glenn ‘GT' Thompson's (PA-5) "Barnyard Discussion" on agriculture policy, which took place this week during Penn State University's Ag Progress Days. Thompson is a senior member of the House Agriculture Committee and the chairman of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Conservation and Forestry.

Among those who appeared and participated in the discussion were Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding, along Pennsylvania Farm Bureau President Rick Ebert, Penn State Extension and representatives from various commodity sectors. Discussion focused on the general state of agriculture across Pennsylvania, as well as the 2014 Farm Bill. The Farm Bill includes important provisions with regard to research, dairy, conservation, forestry and nutrition. Panelists also detailed the importance of Pennsylvania's forests and the need for proper forest management.
