Media Advisory: Thompson to Unveil Special Needs Trust Fairness Act of 2013 in State College, Pennsylvania
Bellefonte, Pa. – Next week, in State College, Pa., U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson, R-Howard, will hold a press conference on the introduction of H.R. 2123, the Special Needs Trust Fairness Act of 2013. Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ), ranking member on the House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Health, is the lead Democratic cosponsor of this bipartisan bill.
Rep. Thompson will be joined by State College Elder Law Attorney H. Amos Goodall, Jr., as they discuss inequities under current federal law that prevent individuals with disabilities from independently creating a special needs trusts, efforts to raise awareness about this inequity, and the need for this legislative remedy.
