Media Advisory: Thompson to Host Forum on School Nutrition Guidelines

August 20, 2015

Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05), a member of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, will host a forum on Monday, Aug. 24, focused on school nutrition. The event will include details on the implementation of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, which created stringent federal standards for school nutrition programs. Concerns over practical applications of the law have been mounting since it went into effect. The forum will be an opportunity for stakeholders to provide input in advance of the possible reauthorization of the law, which expires Sept. 30.
