Thompson Announces Appointment of Ryan Evanko to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-5) announced that Mr. Ryan Evanko of Warriors Mark, Huntingdon County, has accepted a fully qualified appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.  Ryan is the son of Michael and Beth Evanko and is currently a student at Penn State Altoona.

“Mr. Evanko has proven himself in the classroom, at Bishop Guilfoyle and Penn State Altoona, and in service to his community as an Eagle Scout,” Thompson said.  “I know that an education from West Point will move him closer to his goal of serving as a mechanical engineer in the U.S. Armed Forces.”

In addition to graduating near the top of his class at Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School, Evanko participated in the Army ROTC, National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America.

Mr. Evanko’s grandparents are Charles and the late Carole Renwick of Woodland, and Albert and Virginia Evanko of Slippery Rock.
