Thompson Announces Appointment of Emily Walbridge to the U.S. Air Force Academy

Today, Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) announced that Emily Walbridge of Mill Hall, Clinton County, has accepted a fully qualified appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy.  Emily is the daughter of James and Ellen Walbridge.

“Emily will join her sister, Katelyn, who is already a student at the Academy,” said Thompson.  “This appointment gives her the chance to follow in the footsteps of her grandfather and great-grandfather in serving in our nation’s armed forces.”

Walbridge, 18, attends Central Mountain High School and ranks 7th in her class with a 4.0 GPA.  She has served in leadership position in student government (as class president), the Rotary Interact Club and the 4-H Club.

Outside of the classroom, Emily Walbridge works on her family’s farm, showing sheep at both the county and state levels.

Ms. Walbridge’s paternal grandparents are Lt. Col. James and Maria Walbridge of Williamsport, and maternal grandparents are Fred and Grace Yearick of Mill Hall.
