Thompson Announces Appointment of Bryce Town to the U.S. Air Force Academy

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-5) announced that Mr. Bryce Town of Sigel, Jefferson County, has accepted a fully qualified appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy.  Bryce is the son of James and Annette Town.

“Bryce Town has a reputation in his community of being a hard working student and a young man who has demonstrated leadership skills as captain of the Brookville High School Football and Wrestling teams,” Thompson said.  “These qualities will serve him well at the U.S. Air Force Academy, and I wish him the best in his future education.”

In addition to his achievements in athletics, Town is a member of Brookville’s school newspaper and yearbook staffs.  He also has represented the district at Jefferson County Roundtable meetings, helping to identify issues affecting high school students, including bullying and the use of drugs.

Mr. Town’s grandparents are Donna Town Skelly and the late William Town of Johnstown and Anna and the late Dennis Ritko, also of Johnstown.
