Washington, D.C.—U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson, R-Howard, today announced the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded a $199,500 grant to the Clearfield-Jefferson County Regional Airport Authority.

“The grant will provide funds for the rehabilitation of the apron, runway and taxiway at the DuBois Regional Airport,” said Thompson. “This safety initiative will take care of crack sealing and  include remarking the pavements.”

The grant comes from the U.S. DOT’s Federal Aviation Administration.

Robert Shaffer, airport manager, said, “This is going to enhance air carrier operations and bring the airport into compliance with new federal regulations for runway marking for air carriers. “
