The Resilient Federal Forests Act, which cleared the House Agriculture Committee on June 17 and the Natural Resources Committee on June 11, is aimed at expediting and improving forest management activities, including those occurring in the Allegheny National Forest.  The legislation builds upon the work of previous Congresses to improve forest management efforts, prevent the consequences of catastrophic wildfires, invasive species and disease infestations, and address the many challenges facing the national forest system.
