Media Advisory: Thompson to Speak at Medlar Field, in Advance of Centre County Down Syndrome Society’s “Buddy Walk” this Weekend

Washington, DC – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) will participate on Saturday, Oct. 24, in a “Buddy Walk” organized by the Centre County Down Syndrome Society.  The event is intended to raise awareness of Down syndrome across the region.  Thompson will speak at the event regarding the Achieving a Better Life Experience, or ABLE, Act, which allows people with disabilities and their families to create a flexible account to help save for medical and dental care, education, community based support, employment training, housing and transportation. With Thompson’s support this federal legislation was signed into law on December 19, 2014.
