Media Advisory: Thompson to be Recognized in Ridgway by the American Farm Bureau for Efforts Involving Agriculture

Bellefonte, PA – U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-5), a senior member of the House Agriculture Committee and Chairman of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Conservation and Forestry, will be recognized in Ridgway, Elk County on Wednesday, Oct. 19, by the American Farm Bureau for his work during the 114th Congress. The "Friend of the Farm Bureau" award will be presented during a tour of the Big Maple Natural Therapeutic Farm.

The award is historically presented towards the end of each Congress to legislators who are active in areas involving agriculture, including legislation pertaining to food safety and security, technology, trade and regulatory reform.  Thompson was nominated by the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, which has been presenting the award to legislators annually since 1996.
